Residents of Saticoy
The Ventura County Public Works Agency (VCPWA) has been awarded an Active Transportation Grant by the State to fund the construction of pedestrian improvements in the Saticoy area.
The grant will fund the construction of new sidewalks and pedestrian crossings along several major pedestrian corridors in the Saticoy area. These improvements will provide greater accessibility for pedestrians, and provide more continuity of pedestrian facilities in the Saticoy area. Streets to be improved will include Campanula Avenue, Violeta Street, Alelia Avenue, Azahar Street, and Los Angeles Avenue.
In addition to new sidewalk construction, the project features a comprehensive suite of safety enhancements designed to protect pedestrians and raise driver awareness. Planned upgrades include crosswalk enhancements to improve pedestrian visibility at key intersections with high-visibility signage and flashing beacons, and curb extensions with ADA-compliant curb ramps to shorten pedestrian crossings and ensure accessible pathways for all members of the community.
This project underscores PWA’s ongoing commitment to enhancing local infrastructure based on community feedback, promoting active transportation, and ensuring public safety across Ventura County’s unique communities.
