Residents of Piru
The Ventura County Public Works Agency (VCPWA) has been awarded an Active Transportation Grant by the State to fund the construction of pedestrian infrastructure in the community of Piru.
The grant will fund the installation of new sidewalks across several key local roadways, drastically improving neighborhood connectivity. Streets include Main Street, Center Street, Church Street, Camulos Street, Market Street and Via Fustero.
In addition to new sidewalk construction, the project features a comprehensive suite of safety enhancements designed to protect pedestrians and raise driver awareness. Planned upgrades include crosswalk enhancements to improve pedestrian visibility at key intersections with high-visibility signage, and ADA-compliant curb ramps to ensure accessible pathways for all members of the community.
This project underscores PWA’s ongoing commitment to enhancing local infrastructure based on community feedback, promoting active transportation, and ensuring public safety across Ventura County’s unique communities.

WE WILL HOST ADDITIONAL PUBLIC COMMUNITY MEETINGS AS THE CONSTRUCTION DATE APPROACHES TO KEEP EVERYONE INFORMED.
