Project: Installation of Full Capture Trash Excluder Devices
Project Location: Various County Storm Drain Inlet Locations
This project by Public Works Agency – Stormwater Program is for installation of trash excluder devices in existing storm drain catch basins. The trash excluder devices are made of stainless-steel screens, retrofitted into the existing catch basins to filter trash from stormwater prior to entering storm drain pipelines. The trash, leaves, and other particles will remain in the catch basin, allowing the stormwater to continue to creeks and ocean. Operators can later remove the trash captured and properly dispose of the plastics, cans, papers, and other items that can cause harm to the local ecosystem.
