Notice of Availability of a Draft Environmental Assessment
and Environmental Impact Report for the Hueneme Road Widening
The County of Ventura (County) Department of Public Works proposes to widen Hueneme Road to include four vehicle lanes, a paved median, buffered bike lanes, and paved shoulders (project). The project is located on Hueneme Road between Edison Drive to the east and Rice Avenue to the west. The purpose of the project is to improve vehicle and bicycle travel and safety, improve the freight movement corridor, increase connectivity for bicycle riders, and complete vehicle and bicycle improvements consistent with the General Plan. The project has been included in the regional transportation plans and studies.
NEPA Environmental Assessment
The draft Environmental Assessment (EA) is made available for review and comment for 30 days prior to making a final determination. The public circulation period for the Draft EA began on 11/14/2025 and has been extended to 01/14/2026. Interested parties may submit their comments in writing by 5:00 p.m. 01/14/2026. All written comments may be submitted via postal or electronic mail to the following address.
